Season 2 of The Walking Dead just wrapped up this week and I was totally blown away by the strong finish this show made. In the first half of the season I felt like the show was more or less making up for lost ground. After a short first season of just 6 episodes it sure seemed like a lot of what was happening in the start of the season was character development that we just didn't have time for in season 1. This actually caused the show to drag a little bit there for a while, but when it broke out it was beyond epic. Once the story really started to escalate The Walking Dead created an atmosphere that I don't think has ever been matched, in film or on television. We managed to see a lot of conflicts resolved and tied up that lingered from the first season and on from the second season and saw a plethora of new plot lines open up in the last 30 minuets of the season getting us ready for season 3. The character of Rick went from being a straight up stand up man to a harsh and jaded badass who still manages to make the tough decisions. Every thing about this show was executed flawlessly and is built on such a wonderful symphony of gore and terror. The Walking Dead has totally earned its place as the best show on television right now, the only thing I don't like about it; waiting for fall for new episodes.
